I can honestly say that I can’t remember a time when my sense of purpose, my actual identity, wasn’t driven by the power of music. One of my earliest memories is an experience of lying on the floor in front of blasting stereo speakers and being transported to a euphoric state,
listening to the Beatles’ Sergeant Pepper album. I think I was three years old.
Since then, one experience after another (like the first time I heard The Rite of Spring,
or Miles Davis’s atonal lyricism floating over a deep rolling groove)
has anchored me in that land of enchantment, the reality that is the musical universe…
Worked as an engineer/programmer, composer/performer in many studios in New York, Boston,
& New Jersey, doing everything from audio production for theatre, museum installations, &
soundtracks, to all kinds of band projects (rock, jazz, R&B, rap, world).

In Boston, I began a collaboration with sound healer & founder of Therasound, David Ison.
Initially working with him as recording engineer, our work together has grown to include
many performance & production collaborations in the sound healing & music meditation
arena that continues to this day.

Performed with many bands & songwriters in the Greenwich Village club scene, as well as doing
a few national tours, & still keep a band project going with songwriter Tom Shaner in New York.
We originally formed a band called Industrial Teepee.

Taught guitar privately in New York City, as well as at music studios/stores in New Jersey.

Took classes at The New School For Social Research in the Masters of Media Arts program.

Worked for educational CD Rom publishers Grolier Interactive (Danbury, CT) as composer/sound
designer & engineer/producer for all digital audio content on products such as The Grolier
Multimedia Encyclopedia, The Guiness Multimedia Disc of Records, and many others.

Created & taught special music programs in the NYC public school system for the Brooklyn
based arts organization, “Create!”. I’m continuing to develop these programs for the purpose
of presenting them at schools in the central PA. region.

    Operated Rock-it Studios, a teaching/recording studio, and performing venue in New Jersey;
integrating all aspects of development for area musicians. There I taught private music lessons,
engineered & produced CD projects, and produced local music festivals & café entertainment.

Worked with David Ison on co-designing vibro-tactile bathtub for the Kohler Co. Engineered,
programmed, and co-composed music specifically designed for vibro-tactile stimulation &
relaxation, which plays through a custom designed audio delivery system to the bath shell.

Re-located to Carlisle, PA to supervise construction/restoration of the Commonhealth Building,
with David Ison. Participated in the design of The Good Life Café, an organic restaurant and
music performing/recording venue. Engineered live recordings from the stage, and booked/
    managed events.

Programming of events at the Good Life Café evolved into the creation of The Good Life Café
Radio Show. Worked as engineer, sound designer, and co-producer with host David Ison. The
show enjoyed a short but popular run on Harrisburg NPR station WITF.

Recently finished engineering/programming & co-composing David Ison’s upcoming eight CD
release for Sounds True, The Chakra Sound System, scheduled for release in 2012.

I hope that simple invocation of roots will suffice for a biographical narrative;
though I should also include my grandparents, who were classical performers & private teachers, and from whom I absorbed so much passion for the musical life.
I got seriously into guitar during my middle schools years, and started teaching
others in high school, so I’ve been around this calling for a long time!

Here’s a roughly chronological overview of my work in music since graduating
Berklee College of Music in 1986 with a B.A. in Music Production & Engineering:
